For example, people forget that on November 3, 2021, Kenosha County Circuit Judge Bruce Schroeder stopped during Rittenhouse’s murder trial to inform the prosecution why the “evidence” they put forward that day was irrelevant.
Conservative media personality Steven Crowder shared a video where he highlighted the key moment when Judge Schroeder put a stop to the prosecution’s attempt to show the jury biased footage from the Kenosha riots of the summer of 2020.
Blaze TV staff provided an overview of the exchange between the judge and prosecutor:
Prosecutor: I understand the objection. The problem is how portions of the video have nothing to do with the defendant but describe the scene, and I am trying to give the jury a sense of the scene.Judge: That is hearsay.
Prosecutor: I am not introducing anyone's statements for the truth of the matter asserted. I'm introducing it for the state of mind of the defendant as he watches the scene.
Judge: If it's not for the truth of the matter asserted, then it is irrelevant.
According to the judge’s explanation, he admitted the prosecutions vide in accordance with a two-part rule. As Judge Schroeder noted, this requires evidence that demonstrates the defendant was aware of the deceased person’s violent acts or unruly behavior, on top of the circumstantial evidence of the deceased person’s violent behavior during the incident.
The politicized nature of this trial is very clear. Second Amendment supporters must stand strong and back Rittenhouse against an anti-gun mob who wants to corrupt a judicial process in a way that produces their desired political outcomes. Rittenhouse simply exercised his God-given right to self-defense, but his opponents want to treat him like a murderer.
For that reason, we must make sure the truth is put on record so that future generations see what actually transpired and also show how the forces of tyranny were using deceit to advance their anti-freedom cause.
