On June 12, 2022, a bipartisan coalition of Senators came to an agreement on an anti-Second Amendment package.
Although nothing has been fully concretized as of now, this package will allegedly feature more robust background checks for gun buyers below the age of 21, more funding for school safety resources, financial incentives for states to pass their own red flag laws, tougher penalties for individuals who make straw purchases of firearms, and more Federal Firearms Licensing (FFL) laws.
These measures are being proposed in the aftermath of the Buffalo, New York, and Uvalde, Texas mass shootings. They are supposed to address the perceived gun violence “epidemic” taking place in the United States.
What’s most striking about this gun control proposal is the level of bipartisan support it enjoys. 20 senators in total have stepped forward to undermine the Second Amendment, 10 of them who are Republicans. Because this proposal has 10 Republicans behind it, it now likely possesses a filibuster proof majority.
Here are the 10 Republican turncoats who want to sell out gun owners:

Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.)
Richard Burr (R-N.C.)
Mitt Romney (R-Utah)

Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.)
Pat Toomey (R-Pa.)
This latest development should serve as a wake-up to all of the factions within the conservative movement. Just because a politician is a Republican does not exempt him from being a petty despot. We have to start looking beyond partisan labels and look at behavior above all.
Actions speak louder than words, and they also matter much more than cosmetics. Grassroots Second Amendment supporters should take it upon themselves to look at politicians’ voting records and their bill sponsorship behavior. That will tell them who is with us and who is against us.
Gun rights supporters have a major fight on their hands. All hands will need to be on deck given the bipartisan nature of this potential gun grab. It’s during the times of mass hysteria when our freedoms are in most peril. This is when courageous individuals must rise to the occasion and put a stop to petty despotism.
