Indiana Constitutional Carry Bill is Now on Governor's Desk!

Will Indiana be the 22nd state to pass Constitutional Carry?

The Indiana State House passed House Bill 1296, Indiana’s Constitutional Carry bill, by a vote of 68-30. From there, the State Senate passed the bill by a vote of 30-20.

HB 1296 is now heading to the desk of Republican Governor Eric Holcomb. The Indiana Governor has generally been silent (https://www.wane.com/top-stories/no-permit-carry-bill-heads-to-gov-holcombs-desk/) on Constitutional Carry.

However, there has been speculation about Holcomb being unreceptive to Constitutional Carry due to his support of Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas Carter — a known opponent of the legislation.

With that in mind, Indiana gun owners must crank up the pressure and make sure Holcomb respects the will of Hoosier gun owners and signs Constitutional Carry into law. If Indiana passes Constitutional Carry, it will become the 22nd state with said law on the books.

2022 looks like it will be a promising year for Constitutional Carry. Indiana passing this law will generate strong pro-gun momentum across red states that have yet to pass Constiutional Carry legislation.

Constitutional Carry is the most successful right-wing legislative project of the past three decades. With the right amount of pressure and dedication, all red states will have Constitutional Carry as law of the land.

As always, people will have to get to work to make this vision become a reality. Desire alone will not bring about political change.
