However, recent developments in the United States House show that several members of the Democratic Party want to use gun control legislation as a stepping stone towards their ultimate goal of gun confiscation.
During a House Judiciary Committee last week, New York Congressman Jerry Nadler openly revealed that the aim of gun control legislation is to confiscate firearms in
“common use”.
According to a report by Steve Watson of Summit News, North Carolina Congressman Dan Bishop asked House Democrats on the Judiciary Committee if the “Assault Weapons Ban of 2021” will prohibit firearms currently in “common use”across the nation. Nadler, who is the chairman of the committee, responded to Bishop’s inquiry, “That’s the point of the bill.”
"So, to clarify, Mr. Chairman, you’re saying it is the point of the bill to ban weapons that are in common use in the United States today,” Bishop continued inquiring. “Yes,” Nadler replied. He noted that “The problem is that they’re [the weapons] in common use.”
Bishop then told Democrats that “What you suggest that this order can possibly comply with what the Supreme Court has held (as regards the Second Amendment) in now three separate cases is absolutely absurd.” In addition, Bishop also proclaimed that “the Democrats of the 1960s are the Democrats of the 2020s.”
Watson noted that the legislation in question, H.R. 1807, would prohibit “‘semi-automatic assault weapons’ that contain a magazine, a pistol or forward grip and a ‘folding, telescoping, or detachable stock.” On top of that, weapons that are able to fire over 10 rounds or have a threaded barrel or second pistol grip would be banned.
This entire exchange was revelatory. It showed the true nature of Democrats’ gun control agenda, which consists of outright bans of specific classes of firearms. If Democrats had their way, they’d ban all firearms. We’re dealing with control freaks here who don’t trust Middle Americans’ ability to defend themselves and their loved ones. In such a world, only government functionaries and the wealthy — the only people who can afford such services — can have access to firearms. We can avoid this dystopian environment by constantly resisting Gun control Inc’s plans to undermine our rights.
