Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert is Right to Ask Questions About Why IRS Need More Ammunition

It’s no secret that federal agencies are hostile to Americans’ traditional freedoms such as the Second Amendment. There’s no coincidence that since agencies such as the Internal Revenue Service and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were created over the course of the last century many of our freedoms have faced unprecedented assaults from the government.

Few people, even supposed “pro-Second Amendment” Republicans, understand this. Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert is able to grasp this connection, however. That’s why she’s asking questions about the IRS’ purchase of an additional $700,000 in ammunition earlier in 2022.

On August 3, 2022, Boebert went on social media and tweeted the following:
AWR Hawkins of Breitbart News has been tracking this development for some time. For example, he covered Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz’s efforts to expose the IRS’s expenditures on roughly $700,000 “between March and June 1” purchasing ammunition.

In recent correspondence with Breitbart News, Gaetz described this purchase as “bizarre.”

Gaetz and Boebert have every reason to question this purchase. Agencies like the IRS are unconstitutional and are notorious for infringing on people’s individual rights. Without any form of democratic accountability, IRS and similar bureaucracies can expand their power and ability to harass private individuals almost at will. You hardly see this organizations lose funding whenever they screw up.

These aren’t just random alphabet agencies. They’re shock troops for the state, who are armed to the gills. As people with a strong grasp of deep politics are well aware of, the IRS operates on pure coercion. If you defy their arbitrary edicts, armed men will be sent to your place to haul you away or worse.

That’s the nature of the state. Hence, the importance of the Second Amendment, which is supposed to serve as a check on the state’s monopoly on power.

It would behoove gun owners to start looking at things structurally and recognize that government agencies are not their friends. These are hostile institutions that must have their budgets downsized and ultimately abolished. As long as the IRS and its three-letter counterparts exist, our rights will be constantly under attack.

The Second Amendment can only survive in the context of a limited government .
